Azland looked at the horses then at Dawn "Why did you go before?" he whispered to her.
Dawn looked up confused "I wanted to explore. Aren't I allowed to?" she asked Azland.
He watched her "I didn't say that.. I was just wondering why you left." he nuzzled her a little.
Dawn stepped side ways and flicked her tail "I am not yours so it doesn't matter." she walked of with her tail in the air.

Chase watched Dawn trot off, he followed her quickly before she ran out of site. "Who is he?" Chase asked.

Dawn heard someone behind her and looked back to see Chase "He is a friend of mine but why does it matter?" She asked in a friendly tone.

Yeah, why does it matter?, he thought to himself. Chase nodded and without saying a word, turned away and walked back to the others, not realizing what he had to say.

Sandy yawned and watched Copper from a distance, placing her head on her knees as if she were to go to sleep.

Copper stood where he was and caught Sandy watching him. He trotted a few metres away, standing beside a tree. He moved himself closer until his shoulder came in contact with the trunk. Copper leant against the tree for support, his eyes travelling from one horse to another.

Sandy sighed quietly and slowly drifted off to sleep, not having many dreams about her accident this time.

As Copper watched Sandy go to sleep, he thought about the recent events. Copper let himself fall into a deep sleep, even though his senses were still alert and awake.

Sandy flicked her ears and immediately awoke as she heard a twig snap behind her, sweating nervously, she looked behind herself to check she wasn't being followed and sighed heavily, realizing it was only Chase. Sandy watched as Chase settled himself into the leaves, as she had done and started dozing. She pulled her head around the right way and placed her head on her knees, looking at the others back and forth.

Copper stood motionless, his eyelids opening slowly at the sound of a snapping twig. He shut his eyes again, leaning against the bark. He was exhausted. Copper relaxed his muscles, but his ears perked up at the sound of a growl faraway. Copper did not open his eyes, but instead, remained calm as he trusted his senses, and this creature was moving swiftly towards them, though it was nowhere close to them.

Dawn heard Chase trot off and sighed. She stayed there a little then heard something behind her. Looking around she realised it was Azland. "What?" She asked.
Azland slowed to a hault. "Dawn I am sorry for before but you worried me running off like that." He smiled at her.
Dawn frowned. "Az like I said before, I'm not yours. You are not my mate."
Azland sighed "I know that. I was worrying as a friend... not a mate." He trotted off near the others.

Chase watched Sandy and studied her grazes once more, curious about how she had got them.

Sandy rolled onto her side and stretched out her cramped legs, keeping an eye on Azland, wondering if he came here to cause trouble.

Copper opened his eyes, pushing himself away from the tree as he trotted around in circles, taking a nip at some green grass. He looked over at the others, raising his head. Copper flicked his ears, trying to make out a noise. He could sense the presence of another creature around, circling them, planning an attack. Copper could hear a low growl, and the soft thuds of the creature's foot moving across the ground.

Sandy heard it too, though she wasn't yet strong enough to fight for herself or run, her wounds were still open but healing slowly. She looked at Copper, not sure as what to do. Should I walk off now? She thought, wondering what would happen.

Someone had to think of something.. Copper could not abandon the mares, or escape unscathed with the creature preparing to attack. But, if someone were to distract the creature, the rest could escape. There wasn't any time left, and he had to do something -- fast. Copper looked towards Sandy. He spoke quickly and softly, "Leave as soon as I signal you to."

Without waiting for a reply, Copper moved out of the area, swiftly galloping and dodging trees.

Sandy looked at Copper, "Whats the signal?" She asked, but before she could have a reply, he was gone. Sandy stood up and shook her coat lightly, snorting softly but keeping her focus on Copper.

Copper could hear a soft sound of someone darting across the forest ground. Copper raced forward, and as soon as he was certain that the creature was following him, he let out a ear-piercing neigh as it hung in the air, echoing through the forest.

Copper galloped on and on, the creature falling behind. It seemed like a never-ending place, for no matter how long he ran, it was still trees and darkness. Copper was starting to tire out. He slowed down a little, sparkling drips of sweat rolling down his neck. His mane was damp and messy. Copper came to a halt, realising that the unknown creature had suddenly disappeared.

Sandy worried about Copper, she looked behind herself to see if she could see him but she couldn't, nor could she see Dawn, Azland or Chase. Whinnying, she suddenly felt alone but kept walking alone. Sandy knocked her hoof on a sharp rock and drips of blood gently sprinkle onto the moss, seeing a cave ahead she snorted and entered. She collapsed in pain, not from her old wounds, but her new one. Sandy sighed heavily and waited for something.. something was out there, though it was unknown to her.. she still waited for it..

Re: Copper's Arrival

Copper, panting, started to trot back to the direction of the rest of the horses. He hoped the rest were safe and unharmed. He picked out the rocks and moved cautiously, his senses more alert than ever. He did not know what to expect from this unkown creature. Who knows what this animal could do. One thing he knew is that this animal was not a man, for humans could not move as fast as this creature could. Its footsteps are light and it moved quickly and swiftly. It was agile and had good speed.
As Copper softly made his way back, he walked further on towards the cave he had found earlier that day. He could probably rest in there until he found the rest.

Dawn and Azland were galloping together. They needed to find Sandy and fast. She couldn't afford to be alone not now with her cuts. Dawn sniffed the air. She knew Sandy's scent. Dawn caught the smell and started following it. Azland followed behind watching Dawn carefully. "Sandy?" Dawn called out. She found a cave that had Sandy's scent all over it. "Sandy are you in here?" she called out walking into the cave.

Sandy heard the echo of Dawn's voice throughout the cave and groaned quietly. "Yeah.. here." She mumbled, regaining her balance to her feet and slowly walking out to the entrance where the other horses stood, trying to loose her limp and fast so the others wouldn't worry or notice she had, once again, hurt herself.

Copper pricked his ears. He was safe -- for now. He moved silently and swiftly across the grounds, his energy mysteriously replenishing. Copper sighted the cave in the distance. After making sure that the cave was safe on any creature, Copper retreated into the cave, realising the Dark Forest had not a single beam of light. Everything was darkness, but he could make out shadows and noises such as footsteps. Copper leaned against the side of the cave, shutting his eyes for a rest, his senses fully awake.

Sandy heard the presence of another horse in the distance having a small theory it was Copper, she neighed softly and staggered out to the entrance, trotting in the direction of the noise.

Dawn followed her on one side and Azland was on the other side of her. They were supporting her the best they could. Dawn didn't want to let her fall. She already looked injured enough.
